This is based on the quote that “None of us is truly free until all of us are free."
I have always believed that true freedom will only be achieved if we empower each other. We cannot be truly free if we are stuck in our own boxing glove – only living for the sake of convenience and selfishness. This belief of mine was reinforced when I joined a liberating session on heroism with Dakila. It struck me to remember that in our struggle to fight for human rights and human dignity for all, no one must be left behind. As a youth leader and activist, I feel that I have to contribute my fair share to our collective obligation. Only by accomplishing this we can break the chains of the system that for so long kept the oppressed and the marginalized in the cycle of abuse.
